With Saturday, 10 July, being one of the hottest days of the year I was quite pleased not to have a wedding. Instead I had a busy day in the studio with families and kids. However I could not completely get away from weddings as Simon and Yvonne, who are very good past clients, came in for some pre wedding photography in the studio. They were actually getting married later that day and just wanted some formal type shots as a memory. These type of shots are always fun to do and are far removed from my usual documentary style. But having learnt my photography in a classical, studio style its always nice to revert back now and then. Below are some more favourites

Happy 2010 and welcome to my first blog post of the year.

January is usually a quiet time for weddings so I thought I’d start of with something different – a studio wedding. I have done a handful of studio weddings in the past so it is quite rare here although in continental Europe it is more common.

Henry and Irene visited my studio before Christmas with their guests straight after getting married at the local registry office. During the session I photographed a variety of different groups as well as some on their own. This is completely different to how I usually photograph as each shot is set up. With studio photography I like to keep the images as natural as possible whilst maintaining a traditional, classical look.  Anyhow it was great to do something different to the norm and you can see some more favourites below.
