With a week to go before voting closes I thought I’d give a quick update.
The clear leader is Lydie and Noah’s image, No 10, with 35 votes.
2nd place is Ayla and Ian’s image, No 22, with 31 votes
3rd place is Franky and Andy’s image, No 11, with 20 votes
4th place is Lisa and Dave’s image, No 18, with 15 votes.
So there’s still a week to go with plenty to vote for. The good news is that with over 100 votes I have today donated £100 to Haiti relief as promised -
Thank you so much for your kind donation of £100.00 to support our emergency appeal for the earthquake in Haiti.
We are really grateful that you have been able to help us because the earthquake in Haiti has left hundreds of thousands of children without shelter, food, clean water or adequate sanitation facilities. Without access to even the most basic services and supplies, childrens lives are in danger and they urgently need our help.
Save the Children has had a permanent presence in Haiti since 1985. We have approximately 55 staff including Senior Emergencies Adviser, Ian Rodgers already in the country. Six of our Emergency Response Specialists have arrived in Haiti and together with our in-country team are carrying out assessments to identify the families most in need of immediate help.
We are determined to reach as many vulnerable children as possible. Ian told us: Children and their families have been forced from their homes into an extremely stressful and dangerous environment. The priority now is to provide food, clean water, shelter and medical assistance to children and their families.
We couldnt prepare such an immediate response to this disaster without the help of supporters like yourself ,thank you!
If you would like to keep up to date on our progress in Haiti please have a look at our website www.savethechildren.org.uk/haitinews If you have any other questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us on 0207 012 6400 or email us at supporter.care@savethechildren.org.uk.
